I’m Aileen (AJ for short), a poet and fantasy author. My writing is deeply inspired by folklore and the beauty of nature. I specialize in character-driven stories exploring themes of longing, heartache, and strength.

As a second generation Taiwanese American, my writing often reflects the inescapable question of belonging. I live in Washington State, surrounded by fir trees and the majestic Nisqually River, but a part of me is always in Taiwan.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have a daughter who just turned nine. My cats, Milo and Pumpkin, are my devoted writing companions.
